Goudy Oldstyle Bold Italic

Bold Italic is the most expressive voice in Goudy Oldstyle’s range, pairing increased weight with a confident, flowing slant. The added heft deepens the color on the page, while the italic’s calligraphic roots come forward in lively curves and generous entry strokes. It stands apart from the regular italic with a richer, more emphatic presence, yet it retains the family’s familiar warmth. Use it to create hierarchy within text or to introduce a touch of ceremony in display settings. With the option of long descenders, it can feel sweeping and dramatic; in tighter settings, the shorter descenders keep compositions compact and composed.
