About Preissig

These typefaces and graphic elements are drawn from the work of Czech designer Vojtech Preissig, whose type and book designs helped define the Czech graphic arts identity of the early 20th Century. Legend has it Pressig hand cut fonts in linoleum, which served as the basis for Preissig Lino, dating about 1912 as well as Preissig Scrape circa 1914 .These alphabets show a great affinity for hand-craftsmanship without appearing too clean and combine bold experimentation with a high degree of legibility.
