Underground Thin

Underground Thin reveals the Johnston model at its most delicate and architectural. The light stroke weight sharpens the rhythm of the humanist forms, letting counters open up and terminals feel almost calligraphic in their restraint. Compared to the sturdier weights in the family, Thin introduces a quiet, airy voice—ideal for establishing hierarchy without heaviness. It pairs naturally with Regular and Medium for layered information systems, where contrast in weight carries structure rather than size alone. In generous spacing, its poise and historical fidelity come forward with remarkable subtlety.
