Underground Engraved

Underground Engraved introduces a finely incised character to Johnston’s familiar forms, tracing each stroke with a subtle engraved effect that recalls cast plaques and carved lettering. The added interior detail lends a sense of depth without disturbing the clarity and rhythm that define the family. Set alongside the standard Roman weights, it creates a natural point of contrast—ideal for titles, insignia, or moments that call for a more ceremonial tone. It’s a historical echo within the system, expanding Underground’s voice while remaining unmistakably rooted in its humanist structure.
