The Bold weight steps forward with a deeper voice, amplifying Mackinac’s old-style structure without sacrificing its composure. Its diagonal stress and modest contrast remain intact, but the added heft gives headlines and subheads a grounded, authoritative tone. Compared to the lighter weights, Bold sharpens hierarchy and holds its own in busy layouts, while still pairing smoothly with Regular for extended text. The tall x-height keeps it readable at larger sizes, making it a reliable choice for covers, signage, and feature typography where clarity and character need to share the stage.
