¶ TOLBERT LANSTON invented the Monotype Typesetting System. Both the Monotype and the Linotype were a triumph for mankind in the dissemination of printing material. Previously type was hand set identical to the system invented by Gutenberg.
Further material has not reached Finland as of yet. For now this section is rather sparse.
For educational purposes we have put together what we have. For the sake of accuracy the illustration is an American Lanston Monotype, Type and Rule Caster. It provided a complete Type setting machine and foundry in same machine.
We will add more material as time will allow.
