This mono-weight script face evokes popular advertising of the 1930s & 40s. Swing Bold, was originally based on Kaufmann Bold which was released by ATF, (American Type Founders) in 1936. Kaufmann proved extremely popular in its day. Lanston slightly modified the face by having their punchcutting department head, Sol Hess, redraw the face.
Lanston Swing Bold has never been out of style since it was designed. LTC Swing Bold finds its place on menus, clothing advertisements and even car magazine ads.
