¶ KAATSKILL OLDSTYLE was designed for the book Wrip Van Winkle shown on the right. A more complete description of Kaatskill's origins are on the following page lower left hand column.
This Lanston font revival was featured in an article written by Stuart Isto for 'Amphora' published by the Alcuin Society. The society is a book arts club in Vancouver, British Columbia. This issue featured the digital version of the Kaatskill type face in an interview with Jim Rimmer and Gerald Giampa. Kaatskill was used throughout the June edition in 1986.
Note: This face was one of the first digital typefaces released by the Lanston Type Co. Ltd. Jim Rimmer took painstaking measures in his faithful revival. The italic completed by Rimmer is the first time shown.
