If you are installing a font and the option "Install New Fonts" does not appear in your Font Control Panel here's what to do:

1. Click on the start button and choose "Shut down"

2. Choose the Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode?

3. You should then be at an MS-DOS prompt like the one pictured below. Make sure you are at the C:\WINDOWS> prompt. If the prompt reads anything but C:\WINDOWS>, then type cd\windows and hit the enter key.

4. Once you have established that you are looking at a C:\WINDOWS> prompt, type the following EXACTLY:

attrib fonts +s

then hit the ENTER key on your keyboard

5. You will then return to a C:\WINDOWS> prompt as pictured below.

6. Type WIN and then hit the ENTER key.

7. Windows will start back up. Return to the Font Control Panel and, Bob's Your Uncle! The Install New Font option will have magically reappeared.
