I have Windows and the .zip file will not install
  • If you receive a .zip archive and it will not expand when you double-click on it, you may not have the proper utility. Most, if not all compressed files sent to PC are compressed in .Zip format. To expand the archive, you will need a utility such as "WinZip" which is freely downloadable form such sites as : http://www.download.com. Once the file is un-zipped, just follow the "install" instructions contained in the archive.
For Problems Downloading Compressed Files in Apple's Safari Browser
  • Apple's Safari Browser may try to decompress your download using a built-in Apple utility. Often this fails to work. To avoid this completely open Safari, go to Safari:Preferences:General and uncheck "Open Safe Files after Downloading". This may also disable other Apple helper applications such as opening PDF's in Preview after they've been downloaded. If you've just downloaded a compressed file and Safari is trying to decompress it go to Windows:Downloads, locate the file it is trying to decompress and click the "x" next to it. This cancels the decompression and the "x" is replaced with a magnifying glass. Clicking on this will reveal your download in the finder window where you can use Stuff-It expander to open the file. It is not necessary to re-download the file after stopping the decompression.
I have a Mac and the .sea file is not extracting properly
  • The .sea file is supposed to mean 'self extracting archive'. The contents of the .sea file are the fonts and read-me files in compressed format. Sometimes they do not self extract and they need additional help. A freely available program called 'stuffit expander' will extract most compressed files. If you do not have stuffit expander, it can be downloaded Here
I have a Mac and the .hqx file is not extracting properly
  • The .hqx file extension is "bin hex" encoded for safer travel ofver the internet. Again, sometimes they do not self extract and they need additional help. A freely available program called 'stuffit expander' will extract most compressed files. If you do not have stuffit expander, it can be downloaded Here
