Morris Benton
Benton was a principal type designer at ATF from 1892 until 1937.

William Caslon
Caslon began his career as a gun engraver in 1716. In 1720 he designed his first typefaces and 14 years later issued his first specimen sheet.

Dave Farey
One of the finest living type designers we have had the pleasure to know. Dave's theory that Fred Goudy and WC Fields are one and the same is supported by some overwhelming evidence. Based in London, Mr. Farey can be found presenting and cavorting at various international typography conferences.

Sol Hess
Manager of the Lanston library from the early until the mid 20th century. He designed many of the faces himself, but more importantly commissioned many important faces from Frederic Goudy.

Gerald Giampa
“Fleuron Master” extraordinaire, Mr. Giampa was proprietor of Lanston during the segue between hot metal and digital eras in type and continues to act as typographic consultant to Lanston-P22.

Frederic W. Goudy
The preeminent type designer who had created over 100 classic faces was the Art Director of Lanston Monotype Company from 1920-1947. Thirty of his designs were created specifically for Lanston and all will be available in the near future as a fitting tribute to Goudy’s typographic legacy.

Robert Granjon
Prolific 16th Century printer and punchcutter most famous for his italic and script fonts.

Jim Rimmer

Living type legend Jim Rimmer has produced fonts equally well in metal and digital form. His output approaches Frederic Goudy's in volume and quality. Mr.Rimmer has digitized several Goudy faces for Lanston and continues to assist in the evolution of Lanston Type Co.

Bruce Rogers
One of the most noted American classical typographers of the first half of the 20th century. Mr. Rogers ornamented book design work is revered and influential today. His Centaur type design (named Metropolitan Oldstyle for Lanston Monotype) is regarded as one of the most beautiful typefaces ever cut.

Edwin Sharr
Assistant Art Director at Lanston Monotype in the mid 20th century.

Frederic Warde
American typographer and author has only one type design to his name: Arrighi (LTC Metropolitan Italic). His contributions to the typographic world extend into his writing and publishing of many important works.
